Fuel Automation Station
Fuel Automation Station™ (FAS) is a hot fueling solution developed by SGH platform companies Atlas Oil and Vixta Solutions. This industry-leading technology enables equipment to be refueled when engines are operational or “hot.” Each unit provides a continuous supply of fuel to run equipment while reducing safety issues. Stations are equipped with 20 hoses for simultaneous fueling, and each unit is operated by a single technician, working from a remote command center. Stations have an integrated fuel filtration system; overflow protection; diesel exhaust fluid enhancements that remove harmful NOx pollutants; as well as duel fueling capability for clear and dyed diesel.
In March 2017, FAS received the first of many expected patents for the innovative arrangement of fuel hoses, which are deployed from both sides of the trailer. The external hose and equipment organization enables a spacious middle aisle within the trailer. In the past, equipment space was limited and raised safety concerns from workers who knocked into each other or equipment.
A cloud-based platform allows FAS customers to remotely monitor fuel operations. Thousands of data points per second – more than 500,000 readings per day – are monitored. The data is captured and “packaged” into intelligent dashboards, providing customers extensive insight, even on mobile devices for real-time sensing and analytic capability. This powerful tool provides predictive maintenance awareness including tank monitoring, fuel use measurement and system diagnostics to identify equipment engine problems.
There are endless Fuel Automation Station™ applications outside of an oil field. For example, any critical operations location, remote or urban, such as data centers, mining operations, health care facilities, and in Federal emergency situations, would benefit from continuous supply of fuel.
The Automated Fuel Station that Atlas Oil provides to our operations has provided us with a more reliable fueling solution as well as a safer environment for workers on site. Noble was most excited to utilize the hot fueling solution, because it moved fuel personnel out of the red zone surrounding frac pumps and moved them into a safe location away from frac operations. Atlas’ Automated fueling also creates a more reliable solution by continuously monitoring and filling of tanks, even during pumping operations. The system also allows Atlas to provide more accurate reports for fuel utilization on equipment that is hooked up to their system. We’ve met with multiple vendors with hot fueling solutions, but only Atlas has been able to provide the quantity or lengths of hoses, quality of support and the reporting accuracy that Noble requires. All of these benefits are offered at competitive pricing.Noble Energy
